Finally my netbook has arrived

After a long vacation to Asia, I got tones of equipments and gadgets, one of them is my new netbook the Asus eee S101.

At the beginning my intention was to get a 1000H instead, however the new model happened to be released and it's just too attractive and light compare to the old 1000H thus I made my move to go for the new S101 instead of the 1000H.

The new S101 has the same spec as the 1000 series models the only difference is its appearance and its weight. The new model also support a nice multi-touch touch pad and it's fun to play around with. The web cam has a lower mega-pixel, instead of 1.3MP the S101 only has a 0.3MP web cam, to me it's not really a concern.

The S101 is about 2.3lbs (with battery) and only 21mm thick. The new appearance of the S101 make it looks like a more high end netbook.

Currently on the market there are NO Linux version available and seems like the model only has 16G SSD. (According to the press release from Asus this model will have a 32G and 64G SSD variations)

So far I do not hear any news or review of how this model works under the Linux OS. I will try to install Ubuntu-eee and see how it goes.
